Issue 51 of relax magazine, published in May 2001, explores the work of visual artist Geoff McFetridge in the cover story, dives deep into the topic of shoes in an extended piece, and provides a massive segment on all kinds of schools, from culinary art school to magic classes. The piece, called 'Let's Enjoy School-Life', brings attention to the benefits of educating yourself in whatever field you're interested in.
In addition to the already mentioned stories, issue 51 of relax magazine features many more stories, editorial photoshoots, cultural and lifestyle reviews as well as many recurring segments, like Mark Gonzales artwork and most notably for Vanitasism 'NIGO's General Seminar'. This time around we see images of NIGO in Kyoto with the company 'Toku Takahashi', as he observes the creation of works utilizing the painstaking kyo yuzen dyeing technique. The works were created for an exhibition titled 'Yuzen' to celebrate the 450th anniversary of Chiso, a legacy company specializing in kyo yuzen kimonos and related items. NIGO was one of six creators asked to design special works using the traditional dyeing method.
